The work was created in Sweden. Personal prejudice and stereotypes always guide us to a certain extent.
After Sweden's refugee acceptance policy, a large number of non-Swedes live in Sweden for a long time. Their understanding and cognition of Sweden are not the same as that of the original Swedes. The "tourists" are also different. Therefore, I collected the most typical impressions of nearly 30 non-Swedes who have lived in Sweden for a long time and invited them to describe those impressions in pictures and words.
They include students, teachers, workers and so on. From these people, it may be possible to spy on a more comprehensive and complete Sweden under prejudice and labels.
Display Concept
The drawings, made on transparent glass and placed along the steps and corridor, were almost invisible—just like how non-Swedish residents often go unnoticed in everyday life. The subtle installation invites viewers to look closer, both literally and metaphorically.
